Why is Curiosity Important?

Curiosity is an important trait of a genius. I don’t think you can find an intellectual giant who is not a curious person. Thomas Edison, Leonardo da Vinci, Albert Einstein, Newton, they are all curious characters.
But why is curiosity so important? Here are four reasons:
  1. It makes your mind active instead of passive.
  2. It makes your mind observant of new ideas.
  3. It opens up new worlds and possibilities.
  4. It brings excitement into your life.
Now, knowing the importance of curiosity, here are some tips to develop it:

  • Keep an open mind
  • Don’t take things as granted
  • Ask questions
  • Don’t label something as boring
  • See learning as something fun

What Kind of Intelligence Do You Have?

When I was searching the web to know my type of intelligence I answered twenty questions and figured out that my intelligence is intrapersonal. I do not know how reliable and valid the results bu i would like to share it on my blog.
Individuals who are strong in intrapersonal intelligence are good at being aware of their own emotional states, feelings and motivations. They tend to enjoy self-reflection and analysis, including day-dreaming, exploring relationships with others and assessing their personal strengths.

Characteristics of Intrapersonal Intelligence:

  • Good at analyzing their strengths and weaknesses
  • Enjoys analyzing theories and ideas
  • Excellent self-awareness
  • Clearly understands the basis for their own motivations and feelings

Potential Career Choices:

  • Philosopher
  • Writer
  • Theorist
  • Scientist

Eat Healthy, Be Trained, and Achieve Highly...

It was shown that poor nutrition and lack of physical activity lead to lower academic achievement. Study after study proves what educators have long believed to be true: when children’s basic nutritional and fitness needs are met, they have the cognitive energy to learn and achieve. Schools continue to be a core place for students to learn and practice healthy eating habits, and can also be a primary place to gain the knowledge, motivation, and skills children need for lifelong physical activity.
School Breakfast Programs are especially effective in increasing child nutrition and enhancing academic performance.

Recent studies show:
• Providing more opportunity for increased physical activity (by reducing class time) leads to increased test scores.
• Intense physical activity programs have positive effects on academic achievement.
• Aerobic conditioning may help to improve memory.

Mnemonics... Useful Classroom Strategies

A mnemonic is an instructional strategy designed to help students improve their memory of important information. This technique connects new learning to prior knowledge through the use of visual and/or acoustic cues. The basic types of mnemonic strategies rely on the use of key words, rhyming words, or acronyms. Teachers may develop mnemonic strategies or have students come up with their own.
Mnemonics are strategies that can be modified to fit a variety of learning content. This method enhances memory of complex words or ideas and promotes better retention of material to be learned.
Letter strategies include acronyms and acrostics (or sentence mnemonics). For example, the acronym DNA can be used to help students recalling: Deoxy-Ribonucleic Acid.
  • D: Deoxy
  • N: Nucleic
  • A: Acid

Developing Personal Power

A simple example of exercising personal power is changing habits. Changing a habit could be giving up smoking, implementing an exercise routine, or controlling an emotional reaction to a person at work. How quickly and efficiently someone changes a behavior pattern is one way to measure their personal power.
Desire is a key factor to consider when looking at the ability to change a failure habit into a success pattern. The stronger the desire the faster the change will occur. A person who comes face to face with serious health consequences if they don’t give up smoking is highly motivated. With the desire to live, they can overcome a lack of self discipline and access personal power they didn’t know they had. What we may think of as a lack of personal power or self discipline might just be a lack of real desire. We can tap into reserves of personal power by getting in touch with the power of our authentic desire:D :D

How to Overcome Painful Past Impressions!!

The painful experiences of the past affect people during their whole life. For most people these types of experiences cause a permanent damage that is hard to overcome. However, the good news is that there are ways to overcome these painful past impressions or experiences. If you are one of the people that experienced an negative or hard experience that still affects you to this day, you should take a look at the next steps:

  • Try to forget or forgive the person that caused this bad experience.
  • Focus on the positive things in your life.
  • Learn to care more about others and try to help a person in need.
  • Talk openly about your emotions with others.
  • Do the things you enjoy in life.
  • Think to achieve something.

Education for Humanity

Most individuals in a society do not have the means to obtain a
sufficient education so they can attempt to understand and contribute optimally to the world in which we live. Even for the wealthy, no educational system can achieve its maximal potential when it is under-resourced.An educated humanity is the key for teaching other people, including the next generation, how to understand the world we live in. Without it, there will be too many individuals who find themselves in a world they cannot understand. They will not even know how to gain knowledge and learning skills! They will lack the ability to peel back the complex layers of information to obtain the answers they need.

The Windows to the Soul

Have you ever asked yourself what are the windows to the soul?

These windows are the eyes since they are capable of revealing a great deal about what a person is feeling or thinking. As you engage in conversation with another person, you may see whether he/she is making direct eye contact or averting their gaze, how much they are blinking, or if their pupils are dilated.

1- Breaking eye contact and frequently looking away may indicate that the person is distracted, uncomfortable, or trying to conceal his or her real feelings.

2- Blinking is natural, but you should also pay attention to whether a person is blinking too much or too little. People often blink more rapidly when they are feeling distressed or uncomfortable.

3- One of the most subtle cues that eyes provide is through the size of the pupils. While light levels in the environment control pupil dilation, sometimes emotions can also cause small changes in pupil size.
